Every wedding at Belmount Hall is wonderful, but this one had a very international element.

One of the thank you notes we received, reads as follows:-

Bonjour, Chris

That’s very special for a Francophile like me. Wonderful to be able to impress the French with one’s hospitatlity.

Dieter from Germany met Laura from Paris in a pub in Aberystwyth. They lived for a while in Berlin, but are now living in Manchester. At home, they speak German, although Dieter complains that Laura corrects him regularly. At Belmount Hall, for the wedding, all guests staying in the house were either German or French. This was an absolute delight for me (although I am not as fluent in German as I was), as the conversation often involved three languages at the same time, with even Dieter speaking French to Germans and vice versa.

Laura told me that if it had not been for our help in arranging the wedding, she and Dieter would never have got married. We like that… .

Formidable, cette entente cordiale, quoi?
