‘EXCEPTIONAL’ is the description most frequently used by our many bed and breakfast guests. Five of the guest bedrooms – Braithwaite, Mulberry,  French, Heelis and Whittaker, all ensuite, are available through booking.com (see our guest reviews!) or direct through us to get the best rates.

Bedrooms at the front of the house (Braithwaite and French on the second floor, and Whittaker on the first floor) overlook the valley towards Esthwaite water and the fells beyond, whilst bedrooms to the north (Mulberry and Heelis) overlook the home paddock, north grounds, and woods. Whichever bedroom you stay in you are guaranteed peaceful views. The rooms are named after people connected with the house since its construction in 1774.

Breakfast is served in our downstairs dining room where we offer a variety of cooked breakfasts including our famous frittata and poached eggs, aswell as our homemade granola. We are passionate about the food we offer and source local produce from small businesses in the Lake District.

If all rooms in Belmount Hall are occupied, then we offer breakfast upstairs in our indoor marquee. This large room, built in 1841 to provide more bedrooms for Rev Dr Whittaker’s family (and used for service of the wedding breakfasts for up to ninety guests) is a perfect way to start your day in the Lakes.

We are also dog friendly. Please make us aware on booking that you will be bringing your dog with you as charges do apply.
